It’s 2020, doesn’t that sound crazy? A whole new decade- and I can’t think of a better time to give your home a little refresh! The living room is arguably the most used/important room in any house. It’s the place where families gather, where movies are watched, presents are opened, snacks are eaten, and conversations happen. It’s my favorite room in the house for all of those reasons and I’m excited to give you ideas on some versatile furniture/ decor pieces that would refresh your space and make it stand out!
If you’ve been around a while, you know I’m attracted to warm colors. My style is very much a mix of mid century modern, boho, and scandinavian with a pop of PLANTS. 🌱😆
With that being said, I love neutrals and how different tones and textures can play off each other and be visually appealing without a ton of color. Don’t get me wrong, I love color, but personally I gravitate toward mostly neutral with a pop of color, typically being in throws and plants. However, because these pieces are all neutral, they would look great in any space including those filled with color!
Mid century modern is innnnnn and so timeless! I am seriously obsessed with this sofa from All Modern because I mean… just look at it. 😍 Like I said, I love warm tones and this sofa has everything I’d want in a mid century sofa and more! The warm tones, VELVET upholstery and tapered legs.. yes, yes, and YES. The coffee table has tapered legs to match that mid mod style of the couch but it’s a lighter wood to tie in the side chair. I LOVE the woven texture and natural tones of the chair and think it would look so awesome in so many different living rooms! The tapered legs and natural woods are all very mid century modern, while all the texture of the rug, pillows, planters, and art bring in that cozy boho vibe. I love the way these styles work together to create such a timeless space that you can enjoy for years!
If you couldn’t tell by all my picks, I reaaaaally like texture. It’s my favorite way to jazz up a space without going crazy on color. I get questions all the time about how I get the “boho” look in my home- and honestly I think it’s just layering textures. Shags, linens, velvet, embroidery.. it’s just so fun to mix it up and it feels cozy and lived in which I love!
It was so fun putting this together, and if you end up getting any of these pieces or even similar ones for your refresh, tag me or shoot me an email! I’d LOVE to see your space!
